It is still tough to figure the complete score concerning Camp Lejeune tort claims raised by the “Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022” provision (Section 804 of PL 117-168) in the Honor Our PACT past last August — especially the puzzle of how the VA will calculate a successful filing’s effect on a veteran’s current disability compensation for the same.  We are still waiting on that.  And little has been formally said to family members who have been affected on how to best proceed.  Finally, with all those commercials from legal firms out there, the matters of whom you can trust and the true costs arise.

While we will not recommend one legal firm over another if one is going to pursue a tort case (this is a personal choice), it should be noted that both The American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), at least, have used Bergmann and Moore, LLC for training and representation of their clients when appealing Board of Veterans Appeals decisions for quite some time.  Therefore, when the Pennsylvania State Department of The American Legion provided their brochure below which has useful answers to some current questions, we thought we should pass it on.  Nonetheless, we suggest you see an accredited veterans service officer, first, to discuss the matter, to include sthe latest “ins and outs” of it.
