LVMAC Tidbit — Health Insurance Assistance on 28 March
The vast majority of veterans — more than 80% by estimate — in the Lehigh Valley do not use the Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare system, either because they are not eligible or have never applied. Instead, like the good citizens they are, they mostly rely on private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. The Affordable Care Act requires you to have insurance, but good guidance is sometimes lacking if you are short on income. If you are in a situation where you have low income or no income, you might wish to check out an event on 28 March at the Easton Community Center, in the Easton area, sponsored by the PA Department of Human Services in conjunction with other partners. Talk to one of their certified navigators. Click on the flyer to the right for more information.
