Published by LVMAC on

LehighConfofChurches Homelessness Woman Picture 30Jan2014The partner agencies of Alliance Hall will open a Code Blue warming center this Friday, Saturday and Sunday night (31 January to 2 February) under the management of the Lehigh County Conference of Churches due to imminent dangerous weather as well as to assess our community’s need for such a facility.

The door at 540 Chew Street will be open from 7:00 PM through 11:00 PM to accept guests. The doors will be locked and no additional guests will be accepted after 11:00 PM. Guests will leave the warming center at 6:00 AM in order to accommodate other Alliance Hall programming. Guests must sign a self-declaration of homelessness. There will be awake overnight staffing.

Other than providing a warm place to spend the night and toilet facilities, a bottle of water, a roll of toilet paper and a blanket, no other services will be provided. Guests will be offered a resource guide should they wish to take advantage of services available to them through the Conference of Churches or in the broader community.

To volunteer, please contact Abigail Goldfarb, Community Relations Coordinator, at agoldfarb@lehighchurches.org.
